Optimizing Fleet Operations:
The Design Journey of TollPass Fleet by HYPE Agency
Overview
Intelligent Traffic Systems AD, a Bulgarian national provider of electronic toll collection services, partnered with HYPE Digital Agency to develop TollPass Fleet. This new intelligent service offers fleet management and real-time tracking for vehicles over 3.5 tons, equipped with TollPass on-board units. Collaborating with Melon, we aimed to deliver an exceptional UX and UI for this complex platform.
Project Overview
The project involved designing a comprehensive platform that provides real-time tracking and fleet management capabilities. Our goal was to create an intuitive user experience that caters to the needs of fleet managers, ensuring they can efficiently monitor and manage their fleets.
Challenges
The primary challenge was to design a user-friendly interface that could handle a large volume of data and present it in an accessible way. Additionally, we needed to ensure the platform was optimized for both desktop and mobile devices, allowing users to access vital information on the go.
Outcome
Through detailed research, design, and development, we successfully delivered a robust fleet management system that offers real-time tracking and comprehensive management features. The platform is user-friendly, responsive, and provides a seamless experience across all devices.
The Process
Our approach to creating the TollPass Fleet platform involved several key phases.
Discovery
Our team began with extensive research focused on user experience. We explored different concepts and ultimately developed wireframes that were internally verified by the client. This phase helped us understand the needs and expectations of the users, laying a solid foundation for the design process.
Design
Following the wireframes, we developed high-fidelity, clickable prototypes to simulate the user experience and gather feedback. We focused on creating a consistent and visually appealing design that adhered to the client’s brand guidelines.
Development
The development phase, handled by Melon, transformed our designs into a functional platform. This phase involved applying best practices in software interface design, focusing on different modules starting with the desktop platform. Our goal was to present a large amount of information in a simple and straightforward interface, featuring real-time updates.
Delivery
In the delivery phase, we conducted testing to ensure reliability and functionality. We gathered user feedback and made necessary adjustments, presenting a fully functional design that met and exceeded client expectations. The final product included a responsive design optimized for both desktop and mobile platforms.
Mobile and Desktop Versions
Creating an exceptional user experience across all devices was a key goal for the TollPass Fleet platform.
Desktop Version
For the desktop platform, we applied best practices in software interface design. We focused on different modules, starting with the desktop version. Our challenge was to design an interface that could present a large volume of real-time information in an accessible way. We summarized data in tables to provide a quick overview of each user’s status, with action buttons for data management.
Mobile Version
Recognizing the importance of mobility for many users, we created a mobile version of the platform. This allows users to check updates, statuses, and manage their accounts from anywhere in the world. The mobile-friendly design ensures a seamless experience across all major devices, maintaining consistency with the desktop version.

Typography and Color Palette
We focused on designing a professional and consistent asset. The typography, color palette, and styles were carefully chosen to create an intuitive and visually appealing user interface. Our aim was to establish a design system that could be easily developed and improved upon.
Components and Styles
We developed a library of components to ensure consistency across the platform. Icons were carefully selected and, where necessary, created from scratch to visualize different functionalities effectively.
